Assignment 11

My question:
I'm wondering that nowadays the new words come up so quick and so many. And is there anyway we can know about the new words and update quickly.Thank you!!

Teacher's answer:
It's not that simple. Slang develops very quickly and is different from country to country. Because of the influence of the US, there is more of an opportunity for that form of slang to become international than some other form of slang (Strine, for instance).
One good place to look is the Urban Dictionary www.urbandictionary....

I think this is pretty useful , and actually they respone the question pretty soon , I thought it might take one day to wait for teacher's answer but in fact you don't have.
And he also gave me a useful website , so I think is pretty awesome !

Assignment 8

A moment like this

What if I told you it was all meant to be
Would you believe me
Would you agree
It's almost that feelin'
We've met before
So tell me that you don't think I'm crazy
When I tell you love has come here now

A moment like this
Some people wait a lifetime
For a moment like this
Some people search forever
For that one special kiss
Ohh, I can't believe it's happening to me
Some people wait a lifetime
For a moment like this

Everything changes
But beauty remains
Something so tender
I can't explain
Well I maybe dreamin'
But 'till I awake
Can we make this dream last forever
And I'll cherish all the love we share

A moment like this
Some people wait a lifetime
For a moment like this
Some people search forever
For that one special kiss
Ohh, I can't believe it's happening to me
Some people wait a lifetime
For a moment like this

Could this be the greatest love of all
I wanna know that you will catch me when I fall
So let me tell you this

Some people wait a lifetime

For a moment like this
Some people wait a lifetime
For a moment like this
Some people search forever
For that one special kiss
Ohh, I can't believe it's happening to me
Some people wait a lifetime
For a moment like this

Earth Hour 2009

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1CRs-7lRlPo

There is an organization call Earth hour and it has held the actions of against Global Warming since 2007 , and it have won a lots of people's attentions , and in 2009 0n March 28th at 8:30 they had their traditional action that is turning off all the electricity . And they have a well-known saying "I'm just a person" , that means even your just one person you still can make a different to this world , and that encourages people to stand out and join them.

And their plan is called Vote Earth , and on the below is their statement:

This year, Earth Hour was transformed into the world’s first global election, between Earth and global warming.

For the first time in history, people of all ages, nationalities, race and background have an opportunity to cast their vote for Earth. WWF are urging the world to VOTE EARTH and reach the target of 1 billion votes by the time world leaders meet in Copenhagen for the Global Climate Change Conference in December 2009.
This meeting will determine official government policies to take action against global warming, which will replace the Kyoto Protocol. It is the chance for the people of the world to make their voice heard.

Earth Hour began in Sydney in 2007, when 2.2 million homes and businesses switched off their lights for one hour. In 2008 the message had grown into a global sustainability movement, with 50 million people switching off their lights. Global landmarks such as the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco, Rome’s Colosseum, the Sydney Opera House and the Coca Cola billboard in Times Square all stood in darkness.
In 2009, Earth Hour was taken to the next level, with the goal of 1 billion people casting their vote for Earth. Unlike any election in history, it is not about what country you’re from, but instead, what planet you’re from.

VOTE EARTH is a global call to action for every individual, every business, and every community – a call to stand up and take control of the future of our planet.
We all have a vote, and every single vote counts. Together we can take control of the future of our planet, for future generations.

Their video touches me so I choose this to put on my blog.
